Here at The Exploration Company, we are building spacecrafts for humanity. [Version française plus bas] You will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes to manufacture critical aerospace components, including valve parts, pump components, and shafts. Working from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions, you will create and adjust programs directly at the machine, select tooling, prepare setups, and perform turning operations. You will machine materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, and Inconel, ensuring that parts meet dimensional and surface finish requirements. The role focuses on hands-on machining and programming at the CNC control. English communication skills are expected for everyday exchanges with our international teams. Your Responsibilities Create, modify, and optimise CNC turning programs directly at the machine. Set up CNC lathes, including workholding, cutting tools, and tool offsets. Perform turning operations independently, from initial setup through to finished parts. Select suitable cutting tools and machining parameters for each material and operation. Manufacture precision components to drawing specifications, including tight tolerances and surface finish requirements. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using appropriate measuring equipment. Adjust programs, offsets, and cutting parameters to maintain quality throughout production.
