Director of Opportunity Partnerships

NAFHE is hiring a Director of Opportunity Partnerships, based in Pasadena, California, who works hand in hand with the President and CEO. The position is shared with our affiliate, El Pueblo Community Development Corporation. NAFHE is a national nonprofit with offices in California, Arizona, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania. We serve the communities we work in, creating opportunity and bettering livelihoods through our programs and through the six low-income housing properties we hold in Los Angeles with El Pueblo CDC and Hope Place Housing Corporation. We are building an organization that stands the test of time: resilient enough to endure, and flexible enough to adapt to whatever environment it operates in. The Director owns the work that moves the organization forward beyond daily operations: the pipeline of grant and business opportunities, the projects under way at any given time, and the recapitalization of our properties through public-private partnerships. This is a political job as much as a management job. Nearly everything it touches runs through public agencies, elected officials, lenders, and partners, and most of its problems arrive without a procedure for solving them. The measure of the work is results, not activity. The question this person asks every week is: what can I contribute that will significantly affect the performance and results of this organization?
