Senior Auditor – Assurance (Not-for-Profit, Child Care & Public Sector)

The role Lee CPA is hiring a full-time, permanent Senior Auditor for our Thornhill assurance practice. This seat focuses on audit, review and related assurance for not-for-profits, licensed child-care centres and public-sector / funded entities. You will own fieldwork from planning through file completion, coach juniors, and keep quality and deadlines tight while working directly with the principal. What you will do * Lead fieldwork on audit, review and compilation engagements for not-for-profits, child-care operators and funded or public-sector clients * Plan engagements, identify risk areas, and execute and document testing under CAS, CSRE 2400 and CSRS 4200 * Draft financial statements and notes (ASPE / ASNPO) and support municipal or funder reporting packages Review staff work, write clear review notes, and coach juniors on the file * Manage timelines, client communication and file readiness for principal review * Use CaseWare Working Papers (or similar) and advanced Excel What you bring (required) * At least 2 years of audit/assurance experience at a large public accounting firm (e.g. Big 4 or national/mid-tier firms such as BDO, Grant Thornton, MNP, RSM, KPMG, Deloitte, EY or PwC). Experience from any country is valued equally; this is an experience requirement, not a nationality or “Canadian experience” requirement * Strong technical foundation in audit and assurance (CAS; familiarity with ASPE/ASNPO is an asset) * Clear written and spoken English for client meetings, review notes and reports * Able to work full-time on site in Thornhill, Monday to Friday Legally authorized to work in Canada Assets (not required) * CPA designation, or CPA in progress / near completion * Direct experience with not-for-profits, charities, child-care centres, CWELCC or municipal funding reporting * CaseWare Working Papers and advanced Excel * Comfort coaching juniors and presenting to boards or funders About Lee CPA Lee Chartered Professional Accountant Professional Corporation is a CPA Ontario-registered public accounting practice in Thornhill led by Natalie Lee, CA, CPA, LPA, MBA.
