Description du poste
Morinville Pharmacy is an independent, apothecary-style practice focused on strong clinical care, teamwork, and strong patient relationships. We’re building a pharmacy the community can count on, and we’re looking for a part-time Pharmacist to cover an upcoming maternity leave and grow with us during an exciting stretch.
Our work environment is steady, purposeful, and grounded in real care. We are not driven by corporate metrics, rushed quotas, or pressure to cut corners. The pace is busy, and the work is steady, but the patient is always the priority. We work closely with the medical clinic next door, so you’ll know the doctors by name and can pick up the phone when something needs sorting out. Together, we give patients a consistent, connected experience across both sides.
This is a part-time term position covering a maternity leave. Expected two shifts per week (9 AM to 7 PM), approximately 20–22 hours beginning in April 2027 (approximately 12–18 months). We’ll bring you on gradually ahead of the start date, and a casual pharmacist is on hand for additional coverage, so you’re supported and never carrying it alone.
**Compensation and Benefits**
We believe in paying fairly and sustainably for the work that’s being done. Our wage for this role is $55 per hour, supported by Alberta Blue Cross benefits. As our service model evolves and we reach new milestones, everyone benefits. We are an independent pharmacy, which means we don’t rely on grocery or cosmetic departments to subsidize wages. Every dollar goes directly into staffing, patient care, and maintaining a strong, stable workplace.
Since Morinville is a small community, this role can qualify you for the federal **Canada Student Loan Forgiveness program (up to $60,000 over five years)** now open to pharmacists as of December 31, 2025. The program's rural-service requirement is hours-based (about 400 hours of in-person patient care within a 12-month period), so these two shifts a week (roughly 1,000 hours a year) are more than enough to qualify you, even if your main role stays in Edmonton or St. Albert.
For a new or early-career pharmacist, that’s a significant head start on your student debt. *(Eligibility — including any minimum-hours requirements — is confirmed through the National Student Loans Service Centre.)*
**What Makes This Role Stand Out**
* The pharmacy closes at 7 PM. Your evenings are respected, and we are not looking to extend those hours
* A cohesive, respectful pharmacy team that supports each other
* **The opportunity to work alongside an experienced, licensed pharmacist** known for outstanding, hands-on training, practising in a truly clinical, patient-facing setting right next to the medical clinic. A rare chance to sharpen your clinical skills under strong mentorship.
* Real collaboration with the clinic next door through communication, shared care, and the medical-home approach
* An environment built on efficiency, care, and accountability
* Keep your role in the
