**Duties**
Positions in the Trade Remedies Investigations Division offer an opportunity to work on some of the most important and fast-moving trade issues facing Canada. Our work supports the CBSA’s mandate while contributing directly to Canada’s economic security, competitiveness and prosperity. Our mandate is broadly focused on fair trade. The division works across the full spectrum of policy and operations, from setting strategic direction and developing programs and policies, to conducting complex investigations, analyzing industries and markets, and engaging directly with Canadian businesses, stakeholders, foreign governments and international organizations. At the heart of our work are investigations into unfair trade practices. We examine whether imported goods are being sold in Canada below fair market value or are benefiting from foreign government subsidies, and we administer trade measures that help ensure Canadian producers can compete on a fair and level playing field. The work is analytical, investigative and highly relevant to the Canadian economy. It brings together financial analysis, accounting, industrial and market knowledge, research, data and judgment to answer complex real-world questions and support consequential decisions.
