Reporting to the Senior Design Manager, the Design Specialist oversees the design process from RFQ to close-out, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and delivering cost-effective solutions. The role leads design coordination, supports client and stakeholder engagement, oversees ESDC activities, and provides mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members. **Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site** * **Lead and manage the design process** from project planning through execution, ensuring designs are compliant, cost-effective, constructible, and aligned with project objectives * **Coordinate and oversee design consultants and project stakeholders,** ensuring quality deliverables, adherence to schedules, and successful collaboration across teams * **Manage design schedules, budgets, risks, and resources**, proactively identifying and addressing issues that may impact project performance * **Build and maintain strong client relationships,** providing design guidance, addressing concerns, managing expectations, and communicating technical information effectively * **Provide leadership and mentorship to the Design team,** promoting collaboration, continuous improvement, quality standards, and compliance with company policies and contractual requirements **The Right Tools for the Job** * **Education:** A degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related technical field. Additional credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., or LEED are considered an asset * **Experience:** 2-3+ years of experience supporting design-build or construction projects, with exposure to project leadership, stakeholder coordination, and team management on complex projects * **Skills:** Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Revit, and Navisworks.
