Senior CNC Machinist (Mill and Lathe)

Bhurjee Industries is hiring an experienced senior CNC machinist for mills and lathes. Pay is $35 to $45 per hour depending on experience. **About Us** Bhurjee Industries is a small, close-knit machine shop in Edmonton making precision parts you can hold in your hand, mainly for oil and gas and valve customers. We run vertical mills and CNC lathes, we are ISO 9001 certified, and we welcome input to improve our processes. We are growing and looking for an experienced machinist who wants a stable, long-term home. **The Role** We need a senior machinist who can set up and run a job from the drawing to the finished part with little supervision, and who can help our newer operators. **Responsibilities** * Set up and run CNC vertical mills and CNC lathes (Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Mazak) * Read drawings and tolerances and plan the setup, tooling and work offsets * Edit and prove out programs at the control; CAM or conversational programming is an asset * Inspect your own work with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges and height gauges, and complete inspection records * Troubleshoot tool wear, vibration and dimensional problems * Help train and check the work of less experienced operators * Keep your area clean and follow all health and safety procedures and PPE requirements **Qualifications** * 5+ years of CNC machining experience on mills and lathes (production or job shop, small parts) * Able to do your own setups and first-article inspection * Strong drawing reading and measuring skills * Honest, reliable and detail oriented, committed to workplace safety * Able to lift 50 lbs * Good written and spoken English * Legally entitled to work in Canada * Assets: Red Seal or journeyman ticket, programming experience, ISO 9001 shop experience **Why Join Us** * $35 to $45 per hour depending on experience * Health spending account after probation * Weekday day shift, 7:00 to 3:30 * Small team where your work is noticed * Stable, long-term work **Hiring Process** Phone call, then an in-person visit to the shop, then a paid trial day.
