Kitchen and Counter Help

Trinidadian take-out restaurant is seeking an energetic, versatile and reliable individual with prior kitchen and serving station experience. The ideal candidate is familiar with Trinidadian/Caribbean cuisine, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and can efficiently handle food preparation, order assembly, customer service, and closing duties. **HOURS** Every day, Tuesday to Saturday, from 12 pm to close (approximately 7:30-8:00 pm). Hours may vary according to our needs. **Please do not apply if you cannot work all days and hours on a regular basis.** **MAIN DUTIES** **Preparing and assembling food orders and performing kitchen tasks:** · assemble and package take-out and online delivery orders · food prep and light cooking · operate various kitchen equipment · keep track of food inventory at the serving station and restock as needed · help out at the front counter taking and processing food orders and payments, as required · perform closing tasks, including proper food storage, equipment cleaning and shut down, dishwashing, sanitizing, sweeping/mopping floors, trash removal. **QUALIFICATIONS** ·valid Ontario Food Handler Certificate · previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment - basic cooking skills · able to multi-task and work under time pressures without becoming overwhelmed · able to follow directions, take initiative and perform tasks quickly and accurately · excellent memory, attention to detail, and organizational skills · friendly, positive attitude · physically fit and able to perform the duties of a busy kitchen environment **ASSETS** · familiar with Trinidadian/Caribbean cuisine and some cooking ability · experience operating kitchen equipment, e.g., food processor / dough sheeter/ flat griddle/ Rational combi oven · experience working with dough · cashier experience using POS systems such as Clover Interested and qualified applicants are invited to email their resume to: **smokenroti@gmail.com** Please note that only applicants with relevant experience and full availability to work the required days and hours will be considered.
