Veterinary Technician

City Pet Care Hospital & Urgent Care is looking for a motivated, compassionate, and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. We provide comprehensive veterinary services, including preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, urgent care, and emergency services. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about animal care, works well in a team environment, and is committed to providing excellent patient care and client service. Key Responsibilities * Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatment procedures. * Perform animal restraint and handling safely and compassionately. * Monitor patients during anesthesia and surgical procedures. * Assist with surgical preparation, induction, monitoring, and recovery. * Collect blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples. * Perform in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures. * Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. * Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain accurate medical records. * Educate clients regarding medications, discharge instructions, and patient care. * Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sterilization of examination rooms and surgical equipment. * Assist with urgent care and emergency cases when required. Qualifications & Requirements * Veterinary Technician diploma or relevant veterinary education. * Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) preferred; experienced veterinary assistants with strong technical skills may also be considered. * Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is an asset. * Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient nursing. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Compassionate approach toward animals and their owners. * Legally eligible to work in Canada.
