Head Chef – Korean Restaurant | $30/hr + Tips SOODA Gastown | Vancouver, BC Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $30.00 per hour + Tips Expected Hours: 40 hours per week Location: Gastown, Vancouver, BC Job Description SOODA Gastown, a well-established Korean restaurant located in the heart of Vancouver, is looking for an experienced and responsible Head Chef to join our team. We are seeking someone who can confidently manage daily kitchen operations, maintain consistent food quality, and lead our kitchen team in a positive and organized environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience with inventory management and ordering, and a passion for Korean cuisine. Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily kitchen operations and supervise kitchen staff. - Manage food inventory, ordering, and stock levels. - Plan and organize food preparation to minimize waste and maintain efficiency. - Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation. - Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety. - Train, support, and coordinate kitchen team members. - Monitor food costs and improve overall kitchen efficiency. - Work closely with management to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of kitchen management or supervisory experience. - Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, inventory control, and food ordering. - Previous experience in Korean cuisine is preferred. - Korean language skills are an asset. - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. - Ability to work independently and make operational decisions. - Reliable, responsible, and team-oriented.
