The places we go, the elements we brave, the promises we deliver – **it’s all possible because of our people.** So, whether you’re looking to build new skills, make an impact in your community, or inspire your team, **we go there** for you. **Shift: 25 hours/week - Availability to provide flexible coverage by performing both Courier deliveries and warehouse sorting duties as needed.** **Pay Rate:** * **$19.28/hour when working the Sorter shift** * **$21.84/hour when working the Courier shift** **Location: 473 HWY 4, Port Hastings, NS** **Description** --------------- **Courier:** The Courier picks up and delivers customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules and resolves problems as they arise. **Sorter:** The AM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules. **Responsibilities** -------------------- **Courier:** * Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules * Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day * Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers * Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR) **Sorter:** * Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks * Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out * Loads freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer * Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles * Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items * Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery **Education** ------------- * Completion of High School * Completion of specific vocational courses * Valid Class 5 driver’s license ### **Experience** * 3 years of driving experience and clean driver’s abstract to drive delivery vehicles. ##### **Skills** Domestic Shipping Courier Services Shipping and Receiving Operations #### **Physical Efforts** Physical Efforts-Physical strength - Lifting/Lowering upto 70 pounds #### **Mental Efforts** Mental Efforts-Problem solving Mental Efforts-Attention to Details Required Mental Efforts-Concentrated attention for prolonged periods of time Mental Efforts-Long periods of driving **Language Requirement:** Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders.
