As part of the expansion of our research programs, the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa invites applications for one tenure track position.
The Faculty of Education is located on the unceded ancestral territories of the Anishinaabe-Algonquin people in the heart of the nation's capital. With approximately sixty professors, we offer an exceptional intellectual environment to students, educational researchers, and professors.
This recruitment reflects the current Faculty of Education’s strategic plan, which emphasizes social and ecological justice, well-being, and excellence and innovation in teaching and research.
The Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Learning, Assessment, and Educational Innovation. We seek an innovative and forward-thinking scholar whose research advances understanding of how learners develop knowledge, engagement, skills, and competencies and how educational practices, curricula, and assessment can be designed and evaluated to improve learning and educational outcomes.
We are particularly interested in research that connects the science of learning with rigorous assessment, evaluation, and evidence-informed educational practice. Areas of interest may include, but are not limited to, mathematics and STEM education; curriculum and learning design; assessment and measurement; learning analytics; educational interventions; discipline-specific learning and pedagogy; engagement; and the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
We welcome candidates whose research employs rigorous quantitative or mixed-methods approaches and, in particular, those with expertise in longitudinal and multilevel analysis, structural equation modeling, psychometrics, assessment design, large-scale assessment, experimental or quasi-experimental designs, randomized or design-based trials. Candidates whose research addresses educational equity, student wellbeing, persistence, engagement, or other factors influencing learning and educational success are also encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop an ambitious, externally funded program of research; contribute to graduate research training; strengthen the Faculty's methodological and research capacity; collaborate across disciplinary and institutional boundaries; and provide leadership in advancing evidence-informed educational practice. We particularly welcome candidates whose work has the potential to connect learning research with pressing challenges in contemporary education and to contribute to interdisciplinary research ini
