Description du poste

The Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ) is a leading research institution in the field of science & technology as well as service & transfer of crystalline materials. Our goal is to enable solutions for pressing societal challenges (e.g. communication, artificial intelligence, climate protection, health, etc.) through modern electronic & photonic technologies. The work covers the entire spectrum from basic and applied research to pre-industrial development and is carried out in cooperation with national and international partners from universities, academies and industry. The institute is part of the Forschungsverbund Berlin (https://www.fv-berlin.de/) and a member of the Leibniz Association (https://www.leibniz-gemeinschaft.de). You can find more details on the institute webpage: https://www.ikz-berlin.de. The Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung is currently looking for a **Senior Consultant (m/f/d)** **in Time resolved spectroscopy** We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support our time-resolved spectroscopy activities on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a senior scientist with deep hands-on expertise in femtosecond laser systems and streak-camera-based detection system. As Senior Consultant, you will provide specialist technical advice, experimental support, and strategic input. You will work closely with our research team to design, optimize, and interpret time-resolved data. **Your responsibilities** * Advise on the design, setup, alignment, and optimization of ultrafast spectroscopy experiments. * Support the operation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. * Plan and execute time-resolved measurements using streak cameras, including configuration, calibration, data acquisition, and analysis. * Evaluate experimental data and provide clear technical interpretations, reports, and recommendations. * Support the selection and integration of optical components, detectors, timing electronics, and synchronization systems. * Advise internal teams and, where required, external partners on best practices in ultrafast laser and detector technology. **Your profile** * Advanced degree in physics, photonics, optical engineering, physical chemistry, or a related field. * Several years of hands-on experience with Ti:Sapphire femtosecond laser systems including alignment and troubleshooting. * Practical experience with streak cameras, including temporal calibration, trigger/synchronization concepts, data acquisition, and interpretation of time-resolved data. * Strong understanding of ultrafast phenomena, pump–probe spectroscopy, optical delay lines, dispersion management, and time-correlated measurements. * Experience with optical alignment, beam diagnostics. * Ability to work independently, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and deliver high-quality documentation. **** **We offer** * A flexible part-time contract of 8 hours per week and initially limited to 6 months. * A collaborative, tech
