Description du poste
**Job title:** Senior Software Engineer – Healthcare / Medical Imaging
**Location:** Calgary, AB (in-person or hybrid)
**Reports to:** Chief Science Officer (CSO)
**About Wosler**
Wosler is a Canadian medical technology company on a mission to make diagnostic imaging accessible everywhere. We operate a growing network of diagnostic imaging clinics across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia, and we build the software and technology that run them. Our clinics are both our business and our proving ground: everything we build runs in production, on real patients, before it goes anywhere else. We are ISO 13485 and MDSAP certified and recently closed our seed round.
**The role**
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and ship the software that runs our clinics, and more. This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will design, build, review, and operate production software that sonographers, clinic managers, radiologists, and patients use every day.
Your mandate is velocity at clinical quality: shipping production software fast for a company that is growing faster than its software. We don’t treat speed and quality as a trade-off, any more than a good physician treats speed and thoroughness as one, and we’re looking for an engineer who already works that way.
You will work alongside our internal team and our contracted development partners, and help bring contracted work in-house as it completes.
This role is designed to grow. You will report to the CSO, and as the software team scales around you, there is a path to engineering leadership as the company grows. We are hiring someone who can help lead software at Wosler, and starting them where the work is.
**What you will do**
* Design and ship features end to end across web applications, cloud infrastructure, security, and healthcare integrations.
* Own production reliability for the services you build, including monitoring, incident response, and the fixes that follow.
* Review architecture and code from internal and contracted engineers, and raise the bar on testing, release management, and documentation.
* Work directly with sonographers, clinic managers, and radiologists to understand the problem before writing the solution.
* Contribute to the engineering practices a regulated healthcare company needs, and work within the quality system rather than around it.
**Requirements**
* 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong full-stack skills across modern frontend frameworks, backend development, and API design.
* Strong engineering fundamentals: application architecture, design patterns, clean and modular code, scalability, and maintainability.
* Application security and sensitive-data expertise, including secure authentication and authorization, encryption, input validation, access controls, and safe handling of personal health information.
* Strong relational database experience, including schema design, SQL, indexing, transactions, query o
