For this purpose, we are looking for reinforcement immediately or by arrangement. The position is initially limited until 31 December 2029.

• You merge metadata from separate databases into the AIS, check the quality and document the changes made.
• You build and operate a largely automated data flow from indexing to the AIS (including speech-to-text, OCR/HTR, machine learning and generative AI if needed), pilot further tools and train colleagues.
• You develop the roadmap for the transition from ISAD(G) to Records in Contexts (RiC) together with the departments and management and convert the existing description units with the specialist IT into RiC-compliant linked data structures.
• You participate in other archive projects with a focus on data management.
Profile • Master’s degree in computer science, data science, information science, archival science, mathematics, digital humanities or a related field, or equivalent education and training
• Several years of experience in cleansing, harmonising and transforming large data sets, ideally in the archive, library or memory institution environment
• Scripting and data query skills (e.g. Python, SQL), experience in building automated data processing workflows and with AI/machine learning (e.g. OCR/HTR, speech-to-text, language models, information extraction)
• Knowledge of data modelling (graph-based models, ontologies, linked data), relational and graph databases as well as familiarity with archival metadata standards (e.g. ISAD(G), RiC) or willingness to learn
• Experience in data quality assurance, especially of machine-generated results, working in interdisciplinary environments and knowledge of project management
• Analytical, structured and quality-conscious working style and the ability to communicate technical content clearly; very good German and good English skills
