Role Overview We are looking for Senior Software Engineers (SSEs) to join our Uniware Engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong backend development fundamentals, hands-on experience with Java-based technologies, and the ability to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems. Beyond core engineering skills, we are looking for engineers who actively leverage AI-powered tools and coding assistants to enhance their development workflows, improve code quality, accelerate debugging, and drive engineering productivity. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Framework / Spring Boot, and Hibernate. Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices to support business-critical product functionalities. Work with relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring efficient data modelling, query optimization, and performance. Identify, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across backend services. Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code, following engineering best practices. Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Take end-to-end ownership of development tasks, from requirement understanding to deployment and post-release support. Leverage AI coding assistants and agents to improve development speed, code quality, testing, debugging, and overall engineering efficiency. Required Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Framework / Spring Boot, and Hibernate . Good understanding of MySQL , database design, query optimization, and performance tuning. Working knowledge of MongoDB and experience with NoSQL databases. Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and backend development. Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and core software engineering principles. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills. AI-Driven Engineering We are moving towards an AI-first engineering approach and expect engineers to actively incorporate AI into their everyday development workflows. Candidates should: Be comfortable using AI coding assistants and AI agents for software development. Use AI tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and test case creation. Understand how to validate, review, and optimize AI-generated code. Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging AI development tools and practices.
