Sustainability Consultant

Rapidly growing, global ESG software business with it’s own sustainability consultancy arm is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to be based in Tokyo, with remote options also available. Reporting into a Practice Lead you will support clients with their carbon accounting, ESG reporting, offer strategic advice, manage client accounts and workflows, deliver projects and build relationships with clients. Key duties will include: Actively engage and advise clients to support the measurement, monitoring and reduction of GHG emissions. Project leadership, delivering large scale projects ensuring successful delivery. Support the software platforms product development by offering enhancement ideas. Support the analysis of ESG opportunities relevant to each client’s business model. Board and C-suite advisory and stakeholder management. Candidates MUST have: Good experience working within sustainability, ideally as a consultant in client facing roles. Business level Japanese language skills and ideally English too. Experience of ESG reporting frameworks such as SSJB, CDP or SBTi. Good track record within sustainability, either at a consultancy; OR in-house corporate sustainability department with a focus on corporate ESG strategy and reporting. Good client facing skills, including presenting and stakeholder management. Desirable are: Experience with GHG accounting principles, covering scopes 1-3 and SBTi guidelines. Experience with product carbon footprinting (PCF) and / or Lifecycle Assessments (LCA) Experience working with ESG software. Experience of planning and implementing net zero decarbonisation strategies. Understanding of data analysis, data modelling and associated methodologies.
