Process Automation Engineer

A global industrial automation and process control solutions company is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to support engineering, commissioning, and automation projects across various industrial facilities. In this role, you will serve as the technical lead for engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring project deliverables are executed efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. You will work closely with project managers, commissioning teams, customers, and third-party vendors while providing technical leadership to engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate engineering activities throughout project execution. Support installation, commissioning, startup, and site activities while resolving technical issues and engineering challenges. Review and convert P&ID, SAMA, and process documentation into DCS/PLC graphics, logic, and control configurations. Oversee engineering deliverables, calculations, design documentation, and system integration activities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project engineers and designers. Coordinate internal and external engineering resources, including subcontractors and vendors. Conduct documentation reviews, including vendor drawings and technical submissions. Deliver customer training and technical support during project execution and handover. Apply best engineering practices to improve project quality, performance, and reliability. Support troubleshooting and optimization activities for control and automation systems. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline. 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Automation Engineer, or Control Systems Engineer. Hands-on experience with DCS and/or PLC systems. Experience in: DCS/PLC Engineering HMI Development System Commissioning Troubleshooting and Maintenance Loop Checking and Startup Support Experience converting: P&ID to DCS/PLC Graphics SAMA Diagrams to DCS/PLC Logic Experience managing vendors and reviewing technical documentation. Strong understanding of industrial networks, servers, workstations, operating systems, and related IT infrastructure. Native-level Korean and business-level English communication skills. Ability and willingness to travel extensively to domestic project sites (approximately 60%+). Preferred Experience in power generation, water treatment, oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, or industrial process plants. Experience leading small engineering teams or coordinating multidisciplinary projects. Exposure to international projects and global engineering standards.
