AI Software Engineer – (Generative AI / Agentic AI) AVP Level - Up to £70k + Bonus + Package

Hawksworth are recruiting now for an experienced AI Software Engineer (Generative AI / Agentic AI) to join a leading global Bank! You will help develop the next generation of intelligent applications and enterprise AI solutions for this leading Financial Services organisation. This is a hands-on engineering role, working with modern Generative AI technologies to build scalable, secure and reliable applications. What we're looking for: Strong software engineering background, developing and delivering production-quality applications. 3+ years commercial experience in software engineering in large enterprise environments. Practical experience with Generative AI, LLMs and Agentic AI. Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering and context management. Hands-on development of AI agents, orchestration workflows and tool integrations. Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and strong software engineering practices. Understanding of secure development, testing and enterprise environments. Nice to have: Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agent frameworks. Experience integrating multiple AI models and providers. Financial services or other regulated industry experience. Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to engineering best practices. This is an excellent opportunity to work on enterprise-scale AI technology within an established financial services organisation.
