Medical Technologist, Microbiology (Hospital Laboratory, Culture Reading, Specimen Analysis, Shift Work) #HDC1

A new public hospital is looking for Medical Technologists to join its microbiology laboratory. You will process and analyse specimens that support accurate diagnosis and patient care. What You'll Be Doing • Perform testing on patient specimens in line with laboratory policies, work instructions and accreditation standards • Carry out bench work and culture reading in microbiology • Review, verify and release test results promptly, including critical values • Review clinical history and previous results to support interpretation • Enter and manage results in the laboratory information system • Support fellow technologists, senior scientists and pathologists across the total test process • Maintain equipment, reagents and quality control records • Follow biosafety, infection control and safety procedures • Participate in audits, accreditation and quality improvement activities • Work rotating shifts as scheduled What You'll Bring • Degree or Diploma in Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science or a related discipline and above • Experience in microbiology bench work and culture reading • Relevant professional registration where applicable • Knowledge of laboratory quality systems and accreditation • Meticulous with strong attention to detail • Strong stakeholder engagement skills • Willing to work rotating shifts • Team player with a strong sense of responsibility What's In It For You • Shift allowance where applicable • Exposure to a new hospital laboratory • Public healthcare environment Interested?
