Medical Technologist (Microbiology, Rotating Shifts) #HCG

A public healthcare institution is looking for a Medical Technologist to join its Microbiology laboratory. You will play a key part in diagnostic testing that supports patient care, within a modern, accredited laboratory. What You'll Be Doing • Process and analyse patient specimens, including bench work and culture reading, in line with laboratory policies and accreditation standards • Review, verify, validate and release test results promptly, including critical values • Enter, review and release data in the laboratory information system • Review clinical history and previous results to support interpretation • Perform calibration, validation and routine maintenance of analysers and equipment, and review maintenance records • Participate in External Quality Assessment and proficiency testing programmes such as CAP and RCPA • Investigate unsatisfactory QA results and implement follow-up actions • Conduct lot-to-lot verification and method validation or verification studies • Support audits for MOH licensing and CAP accreditation • Manage reagents, consumables and laboratory supplies • Provide training and competency assessment for junior laboratory staff What You'll Bring • Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Microbiology or a related discipline and above • At least 1 year of experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory • Hands-on experience in bench work and culture reading • Familiarity with laboratory information systems and quality standards such as CAP and ISO 15189 • Good understanding of laboratory safety and quality assurance practices • Meticulous and accurate with results and documentation • Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and nights • Team player who works well with pathologists and laboratory colleagues What's In It For You • Meaningful role in public healthcare diagnostics • Comprehensive medical and leave benefits • Training and career development • Modern, accredited laboratory • Accessible location near MRT Interested?
