This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Social Worker and Clinical Director of a substance abuse treatment facility; supervises counselors and clerical positions.
PRINCIPALES MISSIONS :
Assigns responsibilities and functions to subordinates, regularly reports to the Local Command Group, and plans, directs and is responsible for all clinic staff.
Develops and fully administers a multi-modality comprehensive rehabilitation and treatment program designed to treat alcohol and drug abuse related problems.
Establishes and monitors outcome measures for in-house, ASAP, and higher headquarters levels.
Provide training and supervision for healthcare professionals, emphasizing skills in interviewing, communication, decision-making, and behavioral dynamics.
Identify training needs for employees to enhance skills.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker (Substance Abuse):Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of Specialized Experience in substance abuse and addiction medicine, including outpatient treatment and comprehensive evaluations for personnel and their families; counseling on various illnesses; conducting clinical assessments to inform treatment decisions; and applying rehabilitation principles and developing customized treatment plans; and/or performing data analysis to monitor patient progress. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
