You will serve as a Data Engineer, responsible for providing technical guidance and operational advice to the assigned Cyber Protection Team (CPT) in support of Navy Defensive Computer Operations (DCO). This position is located in CWG-SIX. PRINCIPALES MISSIONS : You will manage the compilation, cataloging, caching, distribution, and retrieval of data. You will perform backup and recovery of databases to ensure data integrity. You will effectively allocate storage capacity in the design of data management systems. You will utilize different programming languages to write code, open files, read files, and write output to different files. QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES : I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: 1. Develop scripts and methods oriented towards data collection; facilitating and executing analytics on data; 2. Assist in the development of analytic schemes of maneuver and the creation of sensor plans; AND 3. Develop collection plans with engineering staff to evaluate interface between software and hardware to conduct an efficient Defensive Computer Operation (DCO). 4. Apply a wide range of theories, concepts, and methods of analytical, mathematical, or statistical principles and practices to complex problems to discover if network traffic and/or artifacts are malicious activity.
