The primary purpose of this position, Engineering Technician, NJ-0802-04 is to Serve as a subject matter expert in aircraft component overhaul in repair in machining, grinding or metal build operations. Provide technical expertise in 5-axis Computer Aided Machine (CAM) programming for advanced composites materials.
PRINCIPALES MISSIONS :
- Support the production shop by improving production processes and implementing engineering solutions that improve throughput of parts through the production facility. - Serve as a Tooling and Fixture designer, in support in the overhaul of multiple weapon systems. - Review technical data for new workloads and ensures that requirements can be met within the overhaul facility. - Act as project manager, planning, directing, and coordinating engineering efforts. - Prepare and brief higher level management and others, as necessary, concerning the status of projects.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES :
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Technical and Medical Support Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-0802, Engineering Technical Series. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. NJ-4 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks), or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11), level, pay band (NJ-3), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). Specialized experience is described as technical work in: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems. Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as: Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes. Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated. OR EDUCATION: Applicant must have two full years of graduate education or a master's degree with a major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed, qualifying education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Specialized experience directly related to the work of the position may be used to meet the requirements of this position. Education in excess of one full year of graduate education with a major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology may be used to qualify applicants for the NJ-3 level.
