Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information. *If selected, the job title of this position will be SUPV IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (PROJMGT)* PRINCIPALES MISSIONS : Provide direct administrative and technical supervision to a team of IT specialists, shaping the operational culture and ensuring the 24/7 reliability of the MOCAS enterprise platform. Plan, assign, and review the team's work, ensuring expert execution of tasks such as database administration, application performance monitoring, and the smooth completion of critical batch processing and job schedules. Mentor technical staff and foster a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement within the platform operations team. Serve as the division's key authority on platform health and operational readiness, advising senior leadership on capacity planning, performance tuning, and risk mitigation. Lead the response to high-priority production incidents, directing troubleshooting efforts to ensure rapid service restoration and minimal mission impact. Executes policy made at higher levels within the organization and resolves technical work problems not covered by procedures. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the Basic Competency Requirements listed above, one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12 in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as leading, planning, or directing the work of a team of IT specialists supporting a production application or system; Managing recurring, time-sensitive IT operational processes, such as software release cycles, system maintenance schedules, or data processing workflows; experience with resource allocation or risk management. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social).
