The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a senior technician and perform a wide variety of both procedural and substantive clerical work supporting one or more military personnel programs, operations, or functions, e.g., recruitment, induction, assignment, training, utilization, or separation.
PRINCIPALES MISSIONS :
Performs the full range of tasks for the student processing section such as assignment, reclassification, Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), in-processing, gaining, out-processing customer service, separation, or similar actions and can perform a complete review of records to determine eligibility for actions. Serves as a technical authority on all elements of active duty military personnel specialties and reviews reports, forms, documentation, and other related information concerning Air Force members and reviews/constructs/maintains military personnel records on all assigned areas. Serves as the primary source of information regarding a wide variety of relocation entitlement actions and processes actions through military personnel data systems. Reviews products to identify and correct mismatched data in system and to ensure projections and confirmations have consummated and required actions have been taken in the Personnel Data System. Uses a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals to perform miscellaneous administrative duties, special actions and other clerical support work pertaining to assigned area of military personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES :
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-0203 Series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes in-processing personnel on entry to active duty and acting as a technical advisor and coordinator for the development and implementation of training programs. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed one year of graduate level education in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of specialized experience and education as described above. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of, and skill in applying, an extensive body of military personnel regulations and procedures relating to transactions processed. Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters. Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures.
