About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Kanto Lodge, Yokota AB. This is a Regular Part Time position guaranteed 20 hours per week.
PRINCIPALES MISSIONS :
Performs minor construction and repair, installs trim using preplanned materials, replaces ceiling tile, door/window trim, screes, steps, porches, door jams, and other damaged wood components. Prepares wood and metal surfaces to be painted by scraping, wire brushing, masking, spackling, and sand surfacing; mixes, prepares, and applies coating materials. Makes minor electrical repairs by replacing fixtures, switches, sockets, burners, electrical cords, bulbs, and fixtures. Uses and maintains hand and power tools and equipment such as drills, saws, routers, straight edge, chalk line, tapes, rules, caulking irons, pipe wrenches, roller, putty knives, and paint brushes. Assures safety and housekeeping practices are observed. Maintains work reports and records. Performs maintenance and upkeep of equipment and lodging vehicles. Drives motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds to locations both on and off base. Adheres to work priorities and work sequences. Qualifying Experience: Knowledge and functional working experience to demonstrate a mastery in the trade/occupation of facility and related equipment maintenance. Such as basic shop mathematics, standard carpentry, painting, and pluming methods and techniques. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and determine the need for repair and servicing of facilities, utilities, and equipment. Basic knowledge and skill in the use of tools of the trade. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier with assistance.
